MONTREAL (AFP) - US Vice President Dick Cheney has postponed a planned trip to Canada in order to deal with the consequences of Hurricane Katrina, a senior Canadian official told AFP. ADVERTISEMENT Cheney was scheduled to visit oil-rich Alberta province September 8-9, said the official. He was scheduled to met with Canada's Deputy Prime Minister Anne McLellan and provincial premier Ralph Klein, and to visit Fort McMurray, Canada's oil capital. Canada, which exports about 2.1 million barrels a day of oil to the United States, decided Thursday to increase production by 91,000 barrels a day to help the country offset other production and imports shut down by the hurricane.
