Chinook sells at Chicago price at US$3 and AECO at C$2.50
Chinook sells at Chicago price at US$3 and AECO at C$2.50 It's surprising how many clueless and short-sighted investors exist out there.
CKE is a natural gas weighted producer.
Its subsidiary TOURNAMENT is also a natural gas weighted producer.
Natural gas is their MAIN product, it isn't oil.
Natural gas sells for US$3 now in Chicago and AECO sells for more than C$2.50 today. These are much higher prices than in the first and second quarters.
And after the recent two deals with Alliance, CKE sells during Q3 about 60% of its natural gas volumes in Chicago market at Henry Hub price. The rest is sold at AECO prices.
And the trend is upward for nat gas prices during this winter because of La Nina etc.
So CKE doesn't receive C$1.50 AECO and ZERO $$$$$$ from Chicago like it did in Q1 and Q2.
