Downticking on steroids.

Downticking on steroids.
You may realize but Google and Stockhouse only show TSX trading. So during the day a market maker can do things to encourage trading with up ticks occurs on another market that will not show up on public financial sites. Then at the end of the day they make a down trade on the TSX proper. So it looks like all that happened was negative news. Your discount broker may also ignore what are called ATSs (Nasdaq Canada, Omega, CSE, Aequitas, matchnow, etc.) And you won't see bid volume from those markets either. What happens is they will put better markets on venues that pay others to hit the MM's orders. Intraday trading is then hidden from unsophisticated traders (aka you). At the end of the day they migrate to the TSX only the bid side orders so that they can register downticks with no intraday context.
