likely settle out of court that would cost CNQ way more than just pay ex-employees 1 year back pay for returning to their old job, plus extra cost to recruit replacement and retraining cost. Lawyers would not take the case if they feel it could go nowhere, and ex employees would not pursue the case if not on pro bono basis. Loser here is CNQ.

Lawyers will take the case regardless as long as they get paid. Cnrl will never settle out of court, that's not how they roll.
