Foreign business delegation shows interest to invest in Balochistan
Friday, May 08, 2015 - Islamabad—Ambassador Javed Malik, PM’s Special Envoy led a delegation of British and Canadian businessmen, which met Chief Minister Balochistan, Dr Abdul Malik Baloch on Wednesday. The investors, representing UAE-based company presented detailed proposal in investing in the mineral exploration and infrastructure development sectors in the province of Baluchistan. The delegation included, Richard Quesnel, President of Colt Middle East, Alun Richards Chief Investment Officer, and Chair, Shahal Khan.
During the meeting Richard Quesnel on behalf of his company Colt Middle East expressed a keen interest in investing in Balochistan. He also briefed the Chief Minister that their company was already actively working to finalize some projects in Balochistan and were keen to expand their operations in creating a win-win partnership that results in contributing towards the social ad economic development of Balochistan.
Ambassador Javed Malik appreciated the Chief Minister for his vision to bring about sustainable development in Balochistan and shared with him various proposals to further highlight the business, trade and development opportunities in the province and promoting these opportunities globally. The Chief Minister while welcoming the delegation said that his government was taking steps to welcome business activity and encourage investment in an effort to create development opportunities that improve the quality of life of the Balochi people.
Ambassador Javed Malik thanked the Chief Minister for his warm welcome and said that “ under the leadership of Prime Minister we are working hard to promote and highlight opportunities in Pakistan and a Pakistan Opportunities Forum will also be organized in UAE and the Gulf countries soon.”
