RE: News thoughts and other ponderings...

RE: News thoughts and other ponderings...Good post, Toasted.

I'll take the liberty to touch on one of the issues you brought up:

"both Elina and Kristen have been very unreliable when they havesuggested as to when we can expect news...Personally, I think this isthe one area where Ari has fallen short as I believe managing investorexpectations is very improtatn for publically traded companies..Timewill tell..."

This is one area that I think Ari has actually been very smart in not succumbing to "investor expectations", as the term is perhaps used too loosely these days.  A company announces NEWS, as it becomes news.  If IR knew ahead of time when NEWS was going to be released, it wouldn't be news.  We cannot know of news before it happens, nor can they.
A permit is handed out, it is news and it is announced.  Assays are received and the results become news, and they are announced.  The sequence is simple and logical.  The problem here lies with the fact that "investor expectations" are out of whack with reality.

Here is my point.............As some here already know, I have been saying for the longest time that this is a chess game.  I have never been worried at all about how and when NEWS will be released, as I understand the basic definition of NEWS and expect nothing more from the company than to put out this NEWS as it becomes necessary to do so within the framework provided by rules and regulations.  The company will not play games with NEWS as they are well aware of the penalties with regards to holding back material news, so let's assume that this is the case.

I see the problem here as a simple disconnect with regards to expectations of "investors" and this most likely is fueled by the definition that we give to "investors".  Investors have no problem with the way this company has put out NEWS, but on the other hand "traders" do.  It is the expectation of traders that is not in line with reality.  These days, many believe that a constant flow of news builds value for a company.  I disagree.  What builds value is not the flow of news, but what is contained in the news.  Simply putting out "news" to appease some traders who are unable to understand that building a company or a resource requires TIME, a concept that they do not yet understand, due to their "investment" approach, or in this case "trading" approach.

To expect news every few weeks is just nonsense, because NEWS is not something you can manufacture out of thin air. So, I put forth that Ari has been very good with putting out news as it comes in..................and that the EXPECTATIONS are simply unreasonable, due to traders needing to see news all the time.

Investors, like myself, who have been in this one for some time, have no issue with NEWS being released when it happens, and we have no need to change the definition of NEWS.

The idea of the company creating news to appease traders who believe news is what moves a company is a concept  that "investors" would not be able to get their heads around, and is quite frankly simply unimaginable for any company that knows what it is dong and where it is going.

Thus, I reiterate that Ari has done fine with releasing news, and it is the expectations that are the problem here.

Just a few days ago, I distinctly remeber one of these "traders" questioning CSI's legitimacy, even mentioning BRE-X and my answer to him was to stop worrying.  A flow of posts was issued and an unnecessary waste of time was created to read through these silly posts questioning the integrity of this company...............a few days later, we see the drill results and the poster in question is now having trouble finding a suitable sauce with which to better ingest his foot through his obviously rather large oral cavity.

Traders will have to learn that when they invest in a company that is building value, it requires time and events don't simply happen because they selfishly wish to price to continue to rise each day without fault.  Events happen when they happen, and news is released when it happens, as per the laws and rules and regulations of the game.

I am more than comfortable with what this company has done so far, and they have played the game well.  I doubt he even spends one second thinking about traders who trade in and out of the stock.  I think his thoughts are surely more often with those people who backed the company and its actions for the rewards of the "endgame."  Those are the ones who sit back and allow him to do what he does best, without crying about news every two weeks.

Just my 2 cents worth on an issue that seems to be common these days.  I personally think that the market has added to many nervous traders who don't do enough dd to understand what they are investing in, and believe that NEWS will be their saviour.  I find nothing more comfortable than having the knowledge of backing a good team, fully understanding the potential of a property and then sitting back, allowing the company to do its work, while I sip a drink and catch a few bass and figure out what I will be doing with the final rewards when the endgame happens.

In the meantime, when the stock price drops , perhaps due to a lack of this ill-perceived notion "expected news", a drop created by the traders themselves, investors like myself and a few others I know in here, will continue to add to their core positions and smile, knowing that the addition of these nervous traders are in essence a godsend for us.

GLTA.
