RE: picked up a couple thousand more You know anywhere 80,000 people hand dug 25 million tons of bedrock (300x400x100m hole), where they pulled out an estimated 11 million ounces of gold, where they pulled out drill samples exposing seams of 132,000g/t of gold and where they found a 7kg nugget, is going to be decent. The bedrock separate from the known seams is still better than most mines running.
I cannot even find numbers for the palladium or platinum extracted. So there's that on top.
If anyone has not watched the youtube videos I suggest searching Serra Pelada. Most are in Portugese but if you know Spanish you'll probably understand good part of the dialogue.
