Controversy Surrounding Aquaculture Industry...

Controversy Surrounding Aquaculture Industry...

chrisale, controversy is everywhere. Is the EA process flawed when it comes to fossil fuels, met coal, wind turbines, and aquaculture?

It may just be, I can't judge as I'm no expert. There is controversy everywhere, but if progress is stopped due to controversy, then you may as well stop the production of shellfish at Baynes Sound.

There are flaws everywhere. Here is an interesting link to a University of British Columbia paper on the Controversy of Aquaculture and there are groups including environmentalists that are against as well as being proponents of shellfish and salmon farming, just as there are against resource mining. It just never seems to end.

I'm including another link to an article which shows conflict to a proposed shellfish expansion increasing the area under tenure, engaging First Nations and developing new areas off the coast.

We are not perfect, and we do not live in a perfect world. If we are to get along and prosper, we need to find a mutual ground and a compromise, otherwise it all ends........everything. JMO
