RE: ecomorons

RE: ecomorons

evidently you have accepted the myth that a non regulated mining industry is beneficial to taxpayers.   The BC Auditor General has slammed non regulation as a catastrophic burden that has to date cost taxpayers from than 3.5 billion dollars to "reclaim" rivers that are contaminated by compa;nies that either went bankrupt or were not forced to post security bond to cover contamination.  Over 1 billion is still needed to reclaim poisoned rivers.  Without strong environmental laws and enforcement, a non regulated mining industry will continue to be subsidized by taxpayers--as the BC Auditor General has unequivocally stated.  Evidence of the BC government following his recommendation to obtain higher security bonds for known contamination is the recent order for Quinsam Coal Mine to increase its security bond to $7.281 and to clean up the arsenic and sulphate contamintion that has not been mitigated since 2003.

Also suggest you review the data on exactly how much Compliance Energy will contribute to BC coffers and its August 2012 Financial Report.
