"In fact I oppose irresponsible mining, not mining itself, even if it is Met or Thermal coal."

Then you should be opposed to Raven.

"I support people who need work, not just in Aquaculture, or farms, but in mining and forestry."

Me too (as I've said many times already but you always ignore)

"
I believe we should support a compromise, rather than deal a death blow to industries that work within the laws of our country that happen to have one of the most reliable and strict laws (both for environment and to workers) in the world."

Unfortunately those laws are being severely weakened in the precise moment that they must be strengthened by the federal government.  Provincially, those laws are essentially meaningless since they have never actually been fully enforced by the government agencies that are charged with doing so.  And yes, the industry knows this very well and uses it to their advantage.

"
If you can't compromise"

I'm more than happy to compromise.  Have Raven commit to selling 100% of their product to steel mills or better yet, leave the coal in the ground for later when it is needed more, and develop instead a copper, gold, or rare earth mine that is more critically needed and whos environmental impacts are purely local and solvable rather than global and forgettable.
