BC Dehua coal mine is hiring cheap Chinese miners

not only are there no transparent and enforceable environmental laws to make coal mines accountable for the environmental damage to air and water, but there are no serious training programs that would provide Britsh Columbians with jobs.  Let's not forget the economy which when robust for coal was the raison d'etre for Raven and its purpose to provide jobs to locals...

Union says Jobs Minister is "cheerleader" for company importing Chinese miners to Tumbler Ridge

The Murray River coalmine project southwest of Tumbler Ridge is attracting controversy for plans to import 200 Chinese workers to fill jobs. The companies backing the mines say there aren't enough Canadian workers with the skills and experience needed to work underground, but the United Steelworkers union disagrees.

Once again Mokita, you are citing a mine in North East BC.  Here's your homework: Find us one that's south of Prince George that's bringing in Chinese workers.  What have you got against immigration? Immigration is not the point.  BC has been promised jobs by mining companies and the importation of tempoary migrant workers shoots a hole in that promise.  Foreign workers will be paid 15% less than Canadian workers and they can't complain about health and safety because then their employer won't sponsor them if they want Canadian citizenship.  Such a deal.
