Timing

I wonder how much the provincial election has to do with CEC's timing.  The governement came close to falling on the budget vote, and it looks like Christy Clark might not survive as the leader of her own party for much longer.  We might be hitting the polls sooner then May.

If the mine released EA news today, it would receave provincially attention.

But if the news could be released after an election is called, maybe it would get less attention.  After all, the button environment issues are the proposed pipelines from Alberta.

We've waited this long.  I hope they are planning their timing well.

I've said before that I think their environment record looks good and based on the criteria, it should pass.  Aquafer mapping, to me, is just a stall tactic.  Oposition seeking delays when they can't have an outright no.  The company has gone beyond the minimum requirements for environmental studies voluntarily.  Environmentalists should support this kind of management instead of setting up a million costly road blocks.  It's more a question of social license IMO and there's no use making it an election issue if it can be avoided because supporters won't give up their family dinner to attend a rally and opponents will.

"GLTA - hopefully the next generation will make solar power economical" The next generation is already here my friend.  Yet another reason to jump off this bandwagon.... https://cleantechnica.com/2013/02/03/thin-film-solar-power-to-be-sold-for-less-than-coal/ "According to a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) between El Paso Electric Company and First Solar, electricity will be ...more

Try to type in "v.apv" Arise technologies.  I owned some stock for a week and broke even.  A solar company - german canadian cooperation with german tax dollars to help. That was the last time I put money in a solar company because they insist that the future is here, when the technology is not, and by technology, I mean the ability to create heaps of kilowats from a small ...more

Very disturbing is more like it.  I'm getting uncomfortable holding this stock, and I usually don't like changing stance, but the delay, and lack of news or update is disturbing to say the least.   Doubt the elections or anything indirectly associated with the process is keeping the price down.  JMO and hope I'm wrong, but I'm honestly thinking of selling my ...more

I think you should hold on 2guys until the end of the first quarter when the EA should be submitted, you have held strong and long and I have enjoyed following you on this board and somedays you single handingly fend off all the caol watch bashers. I do agree that Compliance should at least give the shareholders an update though.

Have to admit that it's been frustrating supra, but it's difficult to hold on when there's no official news update in months.   Hopefully we'll see one soon, one that will at least give shareholders a reason for holding.  I haven't considering selling out completely until now, but if the right news comes along, I'll be more than happy to hold, as this is a proven ...more

I guess mokita and the boys finally got to you eh? haha, j/k I think the price is low just because people don't have the confidence to buy, Nothing has really changed though.  We knew there would be opposition and there always is for a mine.  For what I already own, I'm holding my bet even though I'm currently down 60%.  It feels more risky lately, but that was ...more

Actually C01mustard, I really don't care much about mokita and the bunch as they're view is strictly personal, whereas mine is both personal and business.   On a business aspect, I am confident with management as they a have proven track record, but on a personal note, I'm disappointed that shareholders haven't been officially updated in many months, especially when the ...more
