It is hard to be restrained, but unless there are provisions in the CEC feasibility statment re measures and education programs to mitigate diesle fuel and coal partiicle pollution that puts miner health at grave risk and educate miners about how to get periodic examinations and how to prevent getting black lung disease, your comments fall into the realm of greenwashing or deciept to make a profit.  The United Steel Workers are working hard to protect miner health that they claim is sacrificed by explicit CAnadian policy of deregulation and use outdated reseach to back their policies; In the US there are health surveillance programs that both educate miners about the grave risks they face about contacting a number of cancers from inhaling diesel fuel and coal and silica particles  and the need for periodic xrays.  In Canada, NOTHING.  In the Chief Mine Inspectors annual reports there are glowing reports on successful team rescue programs and how to prevent muscular and skelatal strain--but on black lung that is the biggest threat to miner health--NADA.  Nothing.  Canada spouts outdated data that fails to include irrefuatable scientifc evidence from 29 miner autopsies in the US (methane explosion!!!), that black lung has doubled in the last ten years, and younger miners are getting it quicker than before and the disease is progressing faster among young miners.  . Raven will be a good coal mine??? Where is the evidence that a budget line has been designated either to mitigating acid mine drainage or protecting miner health.   Where is the evidence that CEC is interested in anything but making a profit at the expence of nearby communities, the environment and miner health.  Evidence of mitigation would include a budget line.
