When all the econuts spouted off at that first info meeting the question was asked how did you people from from Denman And Hornby Island get to the meeting? Oh we came by ferry. That ferry did not by chance have a steel hull did it. Well you better start back now in your wooden rowboat because we wouldn't want you to tarnish your eco image by riding in something that has been made using coal.

This line of reasoning is tired and factually bankrupt.  You're basically saying no one is allowed to oppose any business if they use or are connected to any product of that business.  It's nonsense and a cowardly tactic used to deflect. The fact of the matter is, Raven has a huge amount of valid and clear opposition raised around it.

We are all slaves to current technology.  Maybe we should all become Structural Engineers and invent new materials, of course we would all be broke with no money.   You can thank capitalism for that. Its a love/hate relationship.  People hate coal, yet are ignorant of their own dependence on it.   Two years ago, i didn't even know that there was a Met and a Coking coal; I ...more

Hey Chris, you said "This line of reasoning is tired and factually bankrupt. You're basically saying no one is allowed to oppose any business if they use or are connected to any product of that business. It's nonsense and a cowardly tactic used to deflect" IMO, I would call you and your kind hypocrites. You know, the kind of person who puts on a false appearance of virtue, a ...more

LOL. Oh 2guys you're funny.  When you have electricity, not gas or oil for your home heating.  When you buy a Prius, not an Dodge RAM.  When you take the bus for 2 hours a day rather than drive 1 hour.  When you have a solar panel, and solar water heater on your roof and you spend thousands on energy efficiency upgrades rather than just turn up the heat and leave the light ...more

That was funny chris.  At first I thought you knew me, and then you said you were describing yourself.   You see, I do most of the same things you describe yourself as doing, but I don't oppose Raven.   In fact I oppose irresponsible mining, not mining itself, even if it is Met or Thermal coal.   I support people who need work, not just in Aquaculture, or farms, but in ...more

"In fact I oppose irresponsible mining, not mining itself, even if it is Met or Thermal coal." Then you should be opposed to Raven. "I support people who need work, not just in Aquaculture, or farms, but in mining and forestry."   Me too (as I've said many times already but you always ignore) " I believe we should support a compromise, rather than deal a ...more

Are you as twisted physically as you are with other people's words chrisale?   I oppose irresponsible mining whether it be for Met or Thermal coal.   So why should I be opposed to Raven who hasn't mined their resource yet?   Compromise is not what you're here for is it chrisale.  You are much closer to this project than you would like us to know aren't you?  ...more

"I oppose irresponsible mining whether it be for Met or Thermal coal." Irresponsible mining = Raven Coal (based on both its local impacts that are not being addressed and its global impacts) "You are much closer to this project than you would like us to know aren't you? " Oh, now I'm curious.  What do you mean exactly?

It's quite evident chrisale that you're either a local resident who doesn't want the Raven in his/her backyard, or you're a trader/investor.   See, I make my money by trading and investing, both short, medium and long term.   Thus, I have time to post during the day, and evening, because investments are my livelihood.   You, are either unemployed, or you make a ...more

Boy 2guys, you really have me figured out! :+) It's quite evident chrisale that you're either a local resident who doesn't want the Raven in his/her backyard, or you're a trader/investor. Bzzzt. wrong. First of all, my name is Chris Alemany. Go ahead google it, I don't care. I've never hid my identity on the Intertubes and I think I'm better off for ...more

Wow Chris, thanks for the response and for putting so much emphasis on me.  It's quite flattering, lol.   No Chris, you don't make a difference posting here, because as you put it, you are a protestor to the mine.   You don't want trucks coming near your backyard, and as you already stated, you're against CEC selling any Thermal coal.   You are one of the ...more
