BC MINING PROJECT REJECTED

Interesting case of the Morrison Lake mining project being deinied a certificate at the provincial level. The Raven Project with all of the First Nations concerns, overwhelming public opposition, close proximity to a world renowned shellfish growing industry, and lack of a social license may well be the next to be rejected. It's also interesting to note the BC province announced their decision before the Feds.

Good article.  CEC appears to have some of the same ailments like you mentioned.  At the end of the day though, its what industry generates most jobs and money IMO.  The salmon industry is HUGE for us BCers.  So i could see why that project was rejected.  Salmon have migration routes as well, and provide work for people alll along the coast of BC.   It will be ...more
