It is believed the Potentiality is there for a higher bid.

Perhaps wishful thinking in our part, that there is a potentiality for a higher bid on the way as the company is selling at a big discount to book value.

I have sold some of my units but am still holding on to the majority. The meeting to vote on the deal is scheduled for March 28. Looks like we are running out of time for an improved offer?

Look at the volume.  If someone was preparing a higher bid, they would be scooping up all the shares at 8.95.  Looks like that occurred after the first deal was announced.  The second bidder probably bought up one million shares at 7.55 and has now unloaded them all at 8.95.  They also forced a competitor to pay ...more

One simple reason.  The massive break fee in the latest accepted offer form the BOD.  It is a big deterent (and designed to be) to any competing bidders but my guess is it was also instrumental in getting the original bidder to raise their bid.
