RE:RE:Let's do some math- news is outTrim is the leaves around the nug and nug is the part you actually smoke. Nugs are what you buy when you get a gram of weed from the dispensary (or dealer if you're in the black market). Trim is used for processing into oils, edibles, topicals etc. Nugs are what you buy for smoking joints or bowls. Nugs are more expensive because there is more THC, where as the trim is great for extraction because when you process the trim it strips all of the THC out of the leaves which is why it's only $650 compared to $2000. But this give oil that is 50%+ THC which is also very valuable (depending on how you extract) some can get 70%+ depending on extractor and experience.
But some companies use nug for their extraction. This holds more true in states like Oregon, Colorado, and Cali because their price per pound of nug is a lot lower than Nevada. The pro of extracting from nug instead of trim is you get a higher potency of oil and overall yield of oil. You get more grams of high quality oil if you extract from high quality nugs. But you won't see that in Nevada for a little while. Prices are way too high for a pound of nug.
