1/2 A Newcrest Share (Part 2) ?

1/2 A Newcrest Share (Part 2) ?On July 2nd, 2020 I postulated on this board, the possibility that Newcrest might offer CGP shareholders a half share for every CGP share.

Here are 3 comments on this possibility.

1) Newcrest and CGP managements seem to be trying to get along in Ecuador as well as Chile.

2) CGP has both SolGold shares and a 15% interest in Cascabel which is NOT, I believe, encumbered with an NSR. This makes CGP attractive to Newcrest.

3) Newcrest and CGP are now BOTH listed on the TSX. Newcrest needs Canadian profile, trading liquidity and all those items that will give it status and inclusion into those important ETF baskets. After all, it also owns and operates the Red Chris mine in BC.

So what is holding up Newcrest from executing?  3 things.

1) Newcrest NEEDS to establish its position as well as its participation with BHP on;

                                       a) Cascabel

                                       b) all other SolGold properties.

2) Feb 7th federal election in Ecuador.
