I'd take 0.5 of a Newcrest share in a heartbeat, as long as there were dumping provisions in place for the big boys invested in Cornerstone. A spoiler could be Barrick. Despite Bristow making noises about in-house growth, his production profile is looking weaker by the quarter. Barrick needs new Au ounces, and they are not afraid of mining copper to get them.

The market reaction today was disappointing but most copper stocks had a down day anyway. It would be nice to see a transaction occur sooner rather than later. Most of us have been waiting much longer than expected due to Mather's blunders in years past.
