Right Of First Refusal Clause?
FNV grabbing that VERY lucrative NSR is definitely a surprise because it introduces another major miner to what appears to be a crowded ownership group.
We may never find out whether this agreement includes a right of first refusal for Newcrest to ultimately buy this NSR. But such a clause would fit:
BHP would mine the deposit,
Newcrest would receive an NSR,
Newcrest would agree to share technology with BHP,
CGP would be paid for constructing and executing on providing the catalyst for all this .
Newcrest might (or might not) use its NSR on Fruta de Norte as a bargaining chip.
