The only reason to drill vertical wells in the twenty-first century is to determine the horizontal trajectory, ascertain the sweet spot within the reservoir, three to ten times productivity of a vertical well and most importantly is what we all do now in the patch.
Vertcal wells have a small radius of extraction compared to a half a mile horizontal well.
Just look at the SW sask map, its full of horizontals in the Viking.
I am sure Management knows very well the value of horizontal drilling.
Just my humble opinion. And only an opinion thats all.
