Actually I was just responding to the credit game (which is the same thing only opposite to the blame game) that the original post played. I agree with your assessment of the Trudeau, and Mulroney, budget fiascos but the fact is that it was the last government that reversed the deficit spending and it is also a fact that the tax cuts (far bigger on income) began then as well. I am a fiscal conservative and believe that taxes should be cut when things are going as well as they have been for a while but remember that things can also go poorly and we still have a 1/2 trillion dollar debt.
