Douglas Lake Minerals hires alluvial expert for Mbwemkuru project

2008-08-05 08:30 ET - News Release

VANCOUVER, August 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ - Douglas Lake Minerals Inc. announces that after an intensive search, the Company has hired Tanzanian Mineral Exploration (TANZMINEX), a geological consulting firm based in Arusha, Tanzania, specializing in alluvial deposits. TANZMINEX will immediately take over all project management responsibilities of Douglas Lake's Mbwemkuru project working closely with the Company's technical team.

TANZMINEX has a permanent staff of 14 Tanzanians including 4 graduate geologists, lawyers, mechanics, and skilled exploration workers. The team is headed up by Australian Geologist Ross McMaster Bsc, MAusIMM, who is defined as a Competent Person (JORC Compliant) for the preparation of Resource Statements. TANZMINEX has consulted for dozens of mining companies including De Beers.

Douglas Lake's Management sees the hiring of TANZMINEX as a crucial step in the ongoing development of the Mbwemkuru Alluvial Gold Project. Under the Tanzanian mining act, a resource must be defined on at least part of the property before a mining license will be issued. Not only does TANZMINEX have a qualified person to write the Resource Statement, and the necessary staffing, TANZMINEX also has the exploration equipment available to complete the project through to production, including:

 - A fleet of 10 - 4WD field vehicles including heavy camp and service trucks - Truck mounted auger drill - 7.5 inch Knelson Concentrator (https://www.knelsongravitysolutions.com) - 12 inch Knelson Concentrator Pilot Plant for bulk testing of gold - Full range of sampling and mapping equipment

TANZMINEX'S experience in working with alluvial projects, being based in Tanzania, understanding of the local language and customs, and the immediate fit to the existing technical team, were key factors in its being selected.

Another really good move. I bet production could start around end of 09 at this rate. Think we'll get back into the $.50s today?Monty...............

Yes, there really is an Australian Geologist named Ross McMaster https://www.hotfrog.com.au/Companies/McMaster-Ross-Exploration-Geologist https://www.yellowpages.com.au/bi/mcmaster-ross-exploration-geologist-ravenshoe-qld-857996.html Here's a PDF that says he has done alluvial work before: https://www.haoma.com.au/2001/Q1_SEP2001.pdf "Recent exploration work by consultant geologist ...more

OK, so what happened to the Chinese? Kind of funky that they weren't mentioned at all. Here's an interesting site for starting production immediately: https://www.iconcentrator.com/ Six units can be up and running in 30 days at the cost of flying out one set of pump & dumpers, and producing 5 ounces per day. Start small, think big as finances improve. Screw the Chinese and other riff ...more

My understanding is that they have to go through the usual legal review stuff.  We may be seeing 8k stuff relatively soon.  I see a NR on the Chinese and their investment status as one of the key gripes Moriarty put in his article.  Fully addressing it will go along way in refuting their lack of commitment or implied accusation Sangha is lying about their investment.  Like you, ...more

That was my message to Harp when I spoke to him yesterday: Get the 8K out covering the status of the Chinese investment. Monty

This is an extremely positive new release. It shows that Harp is working behind the scenes on assembling a world class team to support the potential world class deposit. From what I understand, Harp is more than happy to hand over the reigns to someone who is very well versed in mining. He is systematically putting people in place and the last two NR's shows that the plan is rolling. I agree ...more

Thankx OP6, i needed a dose of optimism to encourage me. Bottom line....no matter what stock price is doing, no matter who is bashing.....it doesnt change the amount of gold on the property, that even MR.Hater BM is STILL claiming is there.....and that property is OURS.
