RE: this is the reason why I bought today.Agree completely with your thoughts re the new minister. I doubt the negotiations will take anywhere near the 180 days.
I read another article recently, I think from Ecuador, [can't remember where I read it: might have even been posted here] lamenting the slow pace of the negotiations and how it was costing the country big money.
Clearly the foot dragging is costing Ecuador a lot of money and Correa knows that. Not just in taxes either. Once a few of the companies have agreements in place it will make Ecuador a lot more transparent and investment friendly. Even not productive miners create jobs, roads, community services etc.
Been buying again this last week. This correction combined with dmm investor impatience has provided those with strong stomachs a real opportunity IMO.
