RE: RE: RE: March-->July-->August-->OctoberI agree with you in theory but I think reality has shown that once the dust clears and the miners are making money, [assuming that happens] money will trump the sour taste left from the negotiations and all will soon be forgotten as cash has a way of healing wounds calming nerves.
If Ecuador is too rigid and the miners bail then I'd agree Ecuador has a big problem and would likely have to give the land away to attract investment but as long as there is a decent profit to be made no matter how big a PITA, someone will be there to make it.
Plus the govt can only play this game once. When the deals are done whatever deals they've made will be a basic template for others who may follow. Some negotiations certainly but most of the really hard work will have been done. No way will other miners have to endure years of BS like the first ones did.
We should know soon.
