A big differences between Polymet and Duluth Metals is the depth of the futures mines. Non-ferrous metals are easier to contain underground in deeper mines like Duluth Metals. Polymet got stopped in the EIS partially because it wants a cheaper open pit mine. The bad thing for Duluth Metals is they are closer to the boundary waters and this will force them to transfer their tonnage south for processing. Duluth Metals may be stacked with more professional management too. I wonder if it will be easier for Duluth to pass their environmental plans with deeper mines???
