Duluth Metals Ltd > Bloomberg consensus targets

Bloomberg consensus targets

A lot of people misunderstand what this number means.
The consensus means that it is an average of several analysts.  In that sense it is factually correct

However this consensus target needs to probed more deeply when a large company is involved and in the case of a small company it means very little.

Analysts mighr issue a report on a small company 2 to 4 times per year.   The Bloomberg consensus target provides no date stamp on when each analyst did their report.

TD dropped its target to 35 cents from 85 cents on August 22 for example.  Some reports issued prior to the Anto announcement are incorporated into the consensus number.  They do not reflect the new reality.

For all small companies it is true that consensus numbers are meaningless subsequent to a major company event.    Only reports issued after the big event have any relevance

What are your motives by posting here frequently the negatives and encouraging investors to sell? Did you short this stock or what? By the way, I know the meaning of consensus

hme; Yes.  In the context I understood that you got what consensus meant. My comment is that many investors do not grasp the point I made.  Several of my friends have bought shares in part based on consensus targets.  It can give comfort.  Most of them do not understand the timing factor. That was it. mat

hme  I find her postings most helpful. she brings up facts that I did not know or had forgotten,  She is not mailicious and she makes an effort to share information and her thinking. In many ways she is a model of a good board member.  She certainly is more valuable than the "rah-rahers" who offer little knowledge or analysis to support their trust based promotions of the ...more

rocdic  this is a very helpful post -- thank you. More postings of this quality would certainly help me fend my way through this current mess that has occurred around DM and its future. One would have hoped that withj an ore body of this magnitude, more could have been done to protect shareholders better, to satisfy the needs of their special partner and to be perceived by prospective ...more

Yoda: Financing is the bad outcome to wish for. Market do not trust this management for reasons that I have explained before. The best outcome would be buyout.

Rockdic, You are right on with your summary and I concur with them. It looks like the smart girl "mat" has a hidden agenda (either she is shorting DM or she is doing something else...???). She is not a samaritan or a voluntary world saver...  She almost sounds like she "helped to write the very negative CIBC report"...and for sure she wants us to part with our shares ...more

Mat is one of the brightest posters on stockhouse, and believe me she is not shorting this stock. Rocdic and Este get out. this is not getting better. lick your wounds and move on. Dundas is spending his money on donuts and not stock. If he actually believed in this company there is plenty of stock for him to buy and he has a lot of money. His purchases are a joke. Read the financials and you will ...more

Agree to a certain point. She makes her point to sound and look like she is very knowlageble in this field and I noticed this. But, she is so buisy and strongly persistent to make her point loud and clear- run for the hills... My question is why? Only shorts do this kind of things...   For sure DM is in a stressfull financial situation no question abut it. But, although low grade, they have ...more

Why do you say or know that she (Mat) is not shorting this stock?...... How do you know that Rocdic and Este got out?  Why do you have so many grouches against Dundas? Why do you make these so many unfounded statements? His compensation is reasonable in comparison with other similar size junior companies. Compensation, I agree with one thing, he has a lot of stock optios (approximately 2 ...more

Hey HME calm down. He did not say I and RD got out...he was advising us to do so which is very kind of him as he truly believes what he is saying and may be right. This is a long shot right now imho and I may lose all my investment in this company. I am willing to take the risk for reasons I have outlined but also understand that others may disagree and that they could be right....time will tell.

I would guess that most of us have very little to recover if we sell now. Hoping that Anto comes up with a rescue plan that doesn't involve bankruptcy is one of our hopes ?

rocdic: Every geologist worth the paper of his degree would understand that he should not drill at random. They use various means to guess where it is most likely to find ore and drill there. So only a portion of property being drilled is because those part where most likely to host ore.

You are right. The market is not valueing the rest. It is looked at as an entrance to lottery. In a bull market you pay for it. In a bear market it is priced at 0. I am long too so don't take this as bashing.
