This comany has had a very proactive approach to this downturn. Massive cost cutting measures, salary cutbacks, changes and elimination of the dividend and yes, sadly, personnel layoffs.
All of these measures have meant that Essential is in an excellent position to come back stronger than ever while it's competitors continue to pile on debt and in many cases, close up shop or get bought out.
My guess is that you're looking at the stock price which theses days is pretty much meaningless for determining the overall health of an energy company. Here's a hint....THEY'RE ALL DOWN. That's why it's called a "down-turn". I guess you missed that class in Investing for Dummies 101 hey?
