Dropping back down to the 3s

Getting pretty tired of this. Yes I get it, good company and management et al, but it's dropping since Jan 12.

Stop looking at the PPS every day, or if you're going to sweat the near term.....sell, its all good.  Not everyone has a long term time horizon.

It is not surprising that the SP has retreated with the advent of the grey market IMO. My understanding is the discount on that market is in the 30% range so there will likely be some arbing occurring by those who hold tradable shares. What I don't understand is why they even bothered with the grey market, given that there is less than six weeks until the hold period expires on those shares ...more

They stated one of the reasons why they listed on the grey market in the news release.  "The listing of Emblem’s “hold period” stock on the TSX Private Markets system serves the interests of all shareholders of the company. The qualification for trading on the TSXV of a significant number of shares on a free trading date (in this case March 11,2017) may create volatility in our share ...more

The grey market may provide a softer landing but, obviously, won't prevent the inevitable slide as 21 million shares get closer to hitting the market. If a person was a buyer/trader, the volatility would likely be preferred. Just like sex, in, out repeat if necessary.

Updated short interest will be out soon.....after the closing bell on either Friday or Monday, with numbers current up to Jan. 31st.  At that point we will get an indication of whether its been shareholders bailing, or of bears borrowing shares from bulls and dumping them back into the market and depressing the PPS.

Checked the site, don't see anything for EMC...when I put EMC in the ticker it comes back:  No Information Found!

From what I hear, the asks are at 10% discount and the bids at 30%. The mechanism for facilitating the trades is ponderous, requiring physical delivery of certificates, as opposed to electronic, plus a bunch of paperwork verifying accredited status. I'm not sure how effective it will be.
Comment by Seraphim1 on Feb 02, 2017 12:15am
Firstly, there are no bidders on the grey market currently. Secondly, yes it would provide a softer landing. As example, I f the locked shares traded hands on the GM let's say @ 3.50, the new owner may not be keen to sell on March 11th, if the shares haven't moved up much. Thirdly, according to Emblem, it's 18 million not 21 that will be free trading on March 11th. Finally, I believe ...more

Yeah who the hell knows at this point...But if you're holding i wouldn't worry too much, add a few if you're willing if not just ride out the storm - all will be good.  Cannot go wrong with Emblem *knock on wood*

I'm not sure that's a good thing having no bidders and only sellers. No bidders would mean your $3.50 example is moot since any transactions would likely be well below that. So are you saying there are 2-3 million shares coming free trading on April 6 or is the 18 million all inclusive? My numbers assume that the 8% brokers allocations were fully subscribed, so maybe they weren't? All ...more

The ability to sell EMC on the grey market is only two days old. I'm told that's your broker needs to talk to his counterpart, who then needs to find a buyer. After that, there is a verbal bid and ask between the two that takes place. It's not a simple click and sell process. It's very complicated.... as by the time one party reacts ....the price can change and the agreement falls ...more

I've been trying to find shares to borrow in order to short since pretty well day 1 and have been unsuccessful. Naked shorting is too risky for my constitution. I'd short and that's when the halt would be implemented announcing a takeover. Logic, however, would suggest that a pullback would continue as March 11 approaches. I suspect just about the only shares available for shorting are ...more
