Reservoir,seal,trap,maturation,migration.
This latest well seems to have lacked seal.It was a structural prospect.Anyway the whole area seems to
have several of those qualities mentioned above,thats is a good sign for Lotshi.
SOCO drilled 3 noncommercial wells.If they had wanted they probably could have defined the qualities of
the prospects better with 3D seismic and maybe excluded some of the wells they drilled.
The wells drilled in this area are not so expensive so a lot companis dont care about doing 3D seismic
which could be more expensive than drilling extra wells.3D is not a guarantee for success either,sometimes
luck is needed.
The joint venture in Cabinda have done both 2D and 3D.They are now evaluating if the Castanha could be
declared as a commercial find.
