Indeed darb. Since the effective date is July 1st, it is highly likely that a deal will be closed in July, the effective date and closing date usually happen in the same month. Also it is clear from the Scotia website that the company is open to considering all alternatives in terms of structure (buyout, merger, divesture) and means of payment (cash or shares), this flexibility will further ...more

Those numbers are still south of my costs, but a heck of a lot better than where we are!

Indeed darb, they are better than now, but still quite low compared to where the stock was; the issue however is natural gas and NGL prices, both of which have weakened significantly since last year, if it was not for that weakness, I believe a deal could have happened in the $7 to $8 range. Averaging down at current levels may make sense for a long term investor in EQU, since the likelihood of a ...more

I for one really hope something becomes of this strategic review process but I am not counting on it as I have seen companies undertake them before and end up back to same old same old as no feasible options materialize. Hope this is not the case for EQU as they appear to have desirable assets in both countries.
