RE:RE:RE:RE:Eurocontrol To Commercialize Precision Agricultural InitiatiI never really thought the DigiFlex MOU was to address security ink for common applications like consumer products, drugs, or banknotes. EDXRF analyzers are too expensive to have at every cash register, or bank, or even every drug store to authenticate drug products. SICPA announced a deal with Clariant chemical last October to put a tracer in plastic monomer masterbatches for drug blister pack and medical device authentication....and it looks like a much more cost effective scanner system than using EDXRF. But I did reserve some hope that they were working on the more nebulous, but multi-billion dollar issue of semiconductor authentication, as it would be a bit more practical for big semi companies to give EDXRF analyzers to their electronics manufacturing customers to assure authentic parts are being used. This has been a big problem the U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) was looking to solve with a solution from the Applied DNA company, but the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) rejected the Applied DNA solution, so I believed there was a chance the deeply connected management at DigiFlex had some inroads to be part of developing an SIA-approved solution.....but apparently this was a great work of science fiction I had envisioned....and I knew it was a long shot, so I mostly kept it to myself. Ultimately, I am still optimistic there is more news in the pipeline regarding SICPA fuel marking sales efforts and XwinSys Onyx inspection systems sales.....but that DigiFlex MOU dis cause my imagination to run a little wild apparently.
