Does this mean the Fed is holding down the price to buy back some of that previously liquidated....?

Harvey Organ We had heard that silver deliveries are being delayed in London and also they are having an extreme problem in locating metal. James Rickards has recently reported that the larget gold refiner in Switzerland has been asked by the Chinese for double the volume it is supplying to them now but they cannot accommodate the request because they cannot source sufficient metal. So much for the laws of supply and demand in determining price.

Sask, it is because so many financial institutions are selling unallocated gold. Let's say you have 1,000 customers who want to buy gold at an average of 50 oz. per customer. You open accounts for each customer, take their money, and buy 2,000 ounces of gold to put in the vault, even though on paper your customers supposedly own 50,000 ounces total. Understood PJ. I believe the Comex is currently leveraged 500 paper oz for every physical oz in storage. The point is that the physical demand clearly outstrips the supply at present and, according to Brent Cook and others, physical supply will diminish in the coming years because much of the low hanging fruit has been mined and the expensive to extract ore has been left in the ground the last 4 ...more
