still think Inner Spirit is the better buy, they have more stores, more members, and they're profitable, I have shares in both, just sharing it for people here looking for something in the same space with lots of growth potential

ISH is a franchise model. Second Cup (a franchise model with 250 stores, that includes 31 owned stores) just sold for 14 million. You'll never get to the revenues of FAF or other firm-owned retail brand with that kind of busienss model. It's great for growth, but they don't seem to have capitalized on that.

second cup is a floundering coffee brand though lol that was crushed by the pandemic, by the same principle, McDs and Tim's etc are largely franchised and look what they're worth, Inner Spirit is still market leader and guaranteed to be profitable since it is royalty based, I'm not trying to diss FAF at all, and I don't think theres anything all that wrong with comparing 2 similar ...more

Completely different business models, not similar, McDo owns 20% of its stores and charges hundreds of thousands of dollars per franchise, how much does ish charge? A franchise model can work if you buold a strong brand that pushes entrepreneurs to invest in your company rather than in their own, combined with capabilities such as retail and distribution processes. I'll stop bugging FAF after this but Inner Spirit is market leader in store numbers, and they have 11-22 corporate stores not just franchises, of course it isn't MCDs, my point was merely to emphasize that you cant just look at one franchise model like 2nd cup and compare the 2, they're much different beasts. That being said as their brand grows, they can absolutely charge more for ...more
