RE:Insane valuation right nowDemanding a proper say, Cat Lake First Nation's injunction pauses First Mining Gold's road work for project | CBC News This is a good article I think everyone should read. As you can see in me previous post this is really about the chief trying to get a time out here because his community is in really big trouble with lots ot issues and the article also says that Cat Lake's nursing station has burned to the ground.
If you go and read about this community you will find they have had so much issues in the last few years that I bet the chief just got desperate here. This community won't survive for many years anyway without roads and infrastructure being developed in that area and the only way this will happen is by allowing Springpole to be developed. The government knows it and Cat Lake knows it. It's just politics.
Some takes from the article:
"Meanwhile, Cat Lake is contending with several other challenges, most recently the loss of its nursing station in a fire Saturday night. The building was the community's central access point to health-care services." "Most First Nations like mine are not opposed to development … if we're allowed to participate and make informed decisions," Chief Wesley said.
