RE: Here''''s the deal-mr mcroy

RE: Here''''s the deal-mr mcroyJust a quick post as you were far more polite this time...as I said then, you are correct to be skeptical of what you read on here, as I am...haven't read your history of posts here or elsewhere so not sure where you may be coming from and in reality, it doesn't matter...the boards, including this one, are often filled with liars, braggers and scammers and it can be hard to tell the good ones from the good people.... I did indeed execute the trades I described, and had a simlar experience with cuu...i had already achieved 100% return on my initial positions, within months on a run up anticipating several significant events...it is normal and healthy for a retracement to occur...whether its wise to trade in and out of a play depends on your own individual investment strategy...and if you don't have one, you need one...the strategy requires rules that will make you a winner in your game at the end of the day...not the biggest winner in the stock or the market...this is why I dismiss so much chatter about the price this week or next as that is not what guides my bus and sell decisions with this portfolio of jr companies...my buy and sells are based on acheiving a desired rate of return within a defined period...once achieved, I am comfortable with a swing trade and usually remain long part of the position.... I do agree that for more investors, in most stocks, a buy and hold strategy is most efficient (especially given tax and commish costs for smaller investors)...but these are not big stable stocks...they can jump up and down significantly very quickly....and there are opportunities for well timed swing trades... Finally, I read recently on another board a reference to the old Teck study that produced the axiom that that 1/1000 prospects will turn into a mine...I believe more specifically it was that of the prospects they spent at least 1 million buck on resulted in a producing mine...coupel that with Doug Casey's oft repeated reminder that eventually most exploration stocks will return to their true instrinsic value....zero....and you have to, imho, revealuate your definition of holding long in the sector...of course fni is producing and a bit of a different story, but "long" for many of these plays is a lot shorter than buying scotiabank stock... Now do you want me to tell you when I come back in?...lol.. BTW, I think the sp has firmed up nicely and thusfar hasn;t dropped as much as I might have expected...healthy sign and bodes well for future appreciation if the production issues have really be resolved... regards and best of luck to all sh's.
