I'm sitting here on the ship holding my ticket and looking out the window. It continues to rain. The pier is devoid of people, just some Seagulls circling overhead. The dock has been cleared, the cargo loaded, the drone of an idling engine is all that stirs. Some well dressed folks walked by earlier but have retired to their first class cabins. Back to staring into space, dreaming about the frontier, the voyage, the journey...
