RE:Revenue per gram of dried marijuana equivalent - $10.81!Some commented why CanniMed cannabis prices are high in comparison to the other cannabis companies.
The Globe and Mail has an article a couple of months ago on cannabis companies, and based on that research, CanniMed along with a couple of other companies have one of the lowest CDC average price per 100mg at $6.25. In comparison, Aphria is at $9.98, Tweed at $12.09, Bedrocan at $7.50, and Aurora is at $5.30. As for its THC component, CanniMed also has one of the lowest THC average price per 100mg at $4.06. In comparison Aphria is at $7.72, Tweed at $6.38, and Bedrocan at $3.67. It appeared that Aurora does not sell at cannabis of significant THC component as it is not listed on the report. Note that even thoughh Aphria claimed that they have the lowest cost of production, they appeared to be selling at price points much higher than industry prices.
In addition, I believe that CanniMed has the strongest if not one of the strongest strains of cannabis. When you have a product like that, your average sale price will typically be skewed to the higher price range.
Based on the above, cannabis average sale price from CanniMed is not high at all and is in fact very competitive and even possibly good bargain prices IMO. CanniMed is very close to breakeven and with a growth at approximately 8-10% monthly (just for dosmetic market in Canada) and with Germany legalizing their medicial cannabis market coming into effect this month, I would be surprised if CanniMed does not post a profit within its next two quarters.
