The population of the US continues to grow at a fairly rapid pace, and people need places to live.

California, because of its mild climate, is a magnet for people looking for a decent place to live.

City people are looking to escape the craziness of large urban centers, and since covid, have realised that many of them can work from smaller cities.

The middle class continues to build wealth, and they too are looking for safer and more affordable places to live.

I started travelling in the western half of the US 50 years ago, so I have seen how things can change rapidly over the years. I looked at many pieces of vacant land over the decades, thinking that, gee, maybe I should buy that? Not many years later, in every case, that land is now covered with houses. Yes, I was dumb to not buy at least one of those properties, but that is beside the point. Americans are building houses in the most unlikely places, let alone in a decent city like Tehachapi.

So for anyone to claim that Sage Ranch isn't needed, they aren't thinking past tomorrow.

I personally don't believe water rights are the issue or enough water to ultimately supply Sage ranch is the issue. For me the potential delays related to the court's final decision along with a potentially slower phasing of the development to accommodate the courts outcome. i.e. 1.75% growth rate which must include all potential water connections and not just Sage Ranch "According

not sure where you live but I am certain water will be the issue  I live in rainy Vancouver and our current snowpack shows we will certainly have droughts this summer

Eddie, you need to educate yourself on the water situation in California, Nevada, Arizona.  There is plenty of water, but it simply isn't used efficiently. Using billions of gallons of precious water to grow friggin almonds is insane.

Yes, that is exactly why Tehachapi transports water via the water aqueduct 400miles (650kms) and pumps it 3500 feet up a mountain, utilizing natural gas and electrical pumps to the Tehachapi Almond Growers Association. (who don't exist) In 2022 (the last Annual Water Report) from the water supplier-   Agriculture used 131 acre feet of water M&I used........... 269 acre feet of water

Of course they all have water issues, but both Arizona and California have been cutting back on the water they allocate for agriculture in order to supply the cites. All you have to do is drive around to see for yourself all of the abandoned fields. I don

To begin with, the posts I put up this morning are 100% related to the District's filings and are not my opinion but are their statements. As I have stated before I believe the water is available but it may require a new EIR and WSA which are properly produced. I have also noted that it may require the entire project to be revamped. Possibly via less homes and an extended phasing period in
