This is an interesting move by Golden Hills. I'm not a 100% sure of the exact backstory but I believe what they have been doing is pumping bought water from the district to fill their lake. The lake has been a scummy/smelly algae pond and in order to address the issue they have bought and placed this water in the lake. I'm assuming they have found from a budget standpoint the drilling of

Just highlights the stupidity of everyone involved. Easy solution----restore the creek that originally fed the lake. But nooooo, lets just pump the krap out of valuable groundwater just because it isn't regulated, until that aquifer is bone dry. Things never change.
