RE:Toronto will use AI software to reduce congestionthere was an article a couple weeks back, not sure if I posted it, but the idea was to have the camera's on buses using bus only lanes being able to pick up a green traffic light ahead and then send a signal to them to stay green an extra couple seconds so the bus would not have to stop. The benefit would be faster trips and less fuel used and less wear on bus componets. So in theory the ALE system and the MDC sending a signal directly to a small receiver in the traffic light. Once the bus is thru the intersection a signal would be sent for the light to turn red and revert to normal operation. The cost for such a system is likely quite low. IMO
