You are probably correct but my idea is for gzz to keep its controlling interest in abitibi by having abitibi sell some of its Agnico and yamana stock and use the money to equally buy back some of the abitibi stock that gzz owns and the same amount in the market and gzz use the money to buy back its stock at these ridiculously cheap prices .Another choice which could be a complimentary step would be for abitibi to buy up gzz,s royalty interest in cheecho and some of the other prospects. ,this would diversify abitibis royalty streams ,gzz would retain controle of abitibi so still share in the royalties through its controle of abitibi and use the money to buy back its stock which is trading for a discount to its value in abitibi .To me its a no brainer .

Abitibi has a fiduciary responsibility to all of its shareholders not just Golden Valley.  The management of GZZ never needed to spin the assets off into another company in the first place.  Many financial engineering transactions are not worth it in the end.  This particular one maybe is paying off as Abitibi now has an excellent CEO focused on creating shareholder value who ...more
