If you plan on holding - Read further

If you want to help the fight against shorters, do as I ask.  Place an order 2-3$ above the current SP for the next month.  That's it!  Making those shares unavailable will drive the SP up. If you plan on shorting GTFO.  I will do the same.

Hold them in your tfsa where they belong.  TFSA shares are not available for short sales. This is why we have tfsa to promote venture investments.  My weed tfsa portfolio is up over $20K 200% in last few months alone tax free and the closer we get to legalization the higher they will fly. Once these companies have to prove themselves in the real world by reporting earnings in a legalised ...more

Why would you transfer?..i think the goal should be to get your tfsa to 1-2mill then invest half that into dividend company's that pay 4-10% annually and invest the rest in high risk stocks to double or triple that and keep repeating...thats what I'm tryna do anyway..
Comment by Hammertown87 on Jan 24, 2018 1:26pm
i don't think you can have 1 to 2 million in a tsfa account
Comment by winnerscircle on Jan 24, 2018 1:29pm
Y not..as of 2018 the max contribution is 61000 ..and if you have been making 1000-2000% gains in the last couple years on the weed stocks...your account should be close to or around the mill mark from the gains...

Your reported facts are not 100% arrcuate. Under the tax rules, if a TFSA carries on a business then it must pay income tax on its business income. What the CRA is TRYING to do is claim that anyone day trading from an account is a "business" but this is a load of hogwash and they have not successfully accomplished this to date. They are just pissed that so many people are making a ...more

This is true. I spoke with people at BMO about this as I had heard rumours but the CS can't do anything. They will bully you but that's as far as they can go with it.

Keep in mind that each of these sources state "maybes" and "mights." As said, the CRA will definitely bully you if you make a fortune, but as long as you defend yourself properly they won't legally be able to gain anything.

Maybe this is a stretch, but if they claim day trading is a business that would make people Brokers but you need your series 11 exam to be a Broker so it can't be a business. =)

spoke to a tax lawyer about this a while ago when i thought i was going to be a millionaire last summer.  If you make the millions holding a stock it is ok to keep in TFSA without any penalty. If you actively trade/day trade/margin trade stocks  in our TFSA then you CAN get calssified as a short term profit investor and you can potentially pay taxes on gains. The grey area is  what ...more
