Expect delays in the fieldSeptember 30, 2010 — What's left of Tropical Storm Nicole has moved upthe Eastern Seaboard and is pushing into Canada. Up to of 85 mm of rainis possible in and around Montreal through Saturday.

The first full week of Fall has been a soggy one inmuch of eastern Canada. And now, people in eastern Ontario, Quebec andNew Brunswick are dealing with yet another decent drenching.

Theremnants of TropicalStorm Nicole are quickly making their way into the Canadianprovinces. “We could see more than 80 mm of rain in places likeMontreal, Quebec City and Sherbrooke through Saturday,” says GeraldCheng, a meteorologist at The Weather Network.

Several areas inQuebec have already surpassed record rainfall amounts this month andthis onset of wet weather will put some communities over the edge.Officials in Montreal aren't taking any chances and are alreadypreparing for flooding in low-lying areas, including the Acadie Circle.
