RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: Argosy hits a 585 bbl well

I haven't forgotten.  GSY does not mention choke size, but most wells are restricted in early testing and production.  Operators have learned that boosting ones ego with an AOF test hurts the long term value of the well via fines migration mucking up the near well bore, or even possibly water coning.  I am assuming that the GSY well will also have restricted the choke size.

You can't get away from 18% porosity - that is huge.  I wonder if they had any acid in the frac -  I suspect not, but that may be the next progression in the dolomitic parts GSY is in (Big Valley).  That may explain why Torc had a 1000 + bpd well in the area.  They may have been more aggressive in using acid so early in the play.

Another thing - these reservoirs will likely make good water flood candidates with time - could nearly double recoveries with that.  Likely be a year at least before we hear of that idea being tested.

PS:  I don't like to gum up the board too much, but this well is very significant and relevant to DTX as well as BWD, Legacy, and naturally, GSY where all the posters are on permanent holiday or they couldn't take the tax loss selling season price action.  I held all my SAB stocks - DTX, BWD, and GSY.
