RE:RE:RE:RE:Silver Producer Looks To Expand Into Latin America. I got sucked into the HL story via the ATAC acquisition. I just hope no more of my juniors get acquired by Helca. Want to know why? Because when HL acquires a junior via a share swap they tell the brokers that the transaction is "taxable" and it clearly is not. I even provided PROOF via multiple references to the IRC tax law to HL investor relations/tax department and they did nothing to correct their errors. They are unresponsive to investors needs/concerns.
My take on Hecla management is that they are lazy, ignorant or both. If you can't handle something simple such as an acquisition (that all other majors can handle with no problem) I have some doubts about how they will handle other facets of managing their company.
That being said, I did pick up some shares this week because even a dog that is beat down well beyond what is justified is worthy of buying. Yes, HL is a dog, but it bodes well in their favour that the list of major silver producers is slim and when silver start breaking out beyond all-time highs the share price will run. Anyway, it reminds me of the saying that even the class dunce can be the valedictorian of his class if he is the only one in his class!!
My take on HL is buy some (only under $4 mind you) and hold your nose and just wait for silver prices to drastically improve.
