FYI, I was told by my broker (scotiaitrade) that TFSA shares could be registered, but they are basically transferred out of the TFSA account at the value on that transaction date.  Any gains/losses made on the shares from that point forward would be treated as a regular Capital Gain or Loss. 

Was also told once they are registered I can no longer trade them electronically.
