RE: RE: 3D TV overview
RE: RE: 3D TV overviewIn the first real major phase of Isee3D, and I include a couple of years when it was International Telepresence, we brought into the market a unique single lens, single camera system for minimally invasive surgery. It worked successfully, but always at the very limit of the display technology's capabilities. The ORs had conventional monitors to display the 3D that had to be maxed out for brightness. We would also run the endoscope's lighting at max, and thus we were just acceptable for brightenss and viewing by the surgeons but only just! The company eventually moved to Montreal and got caught up in the whole 3D streaming business model for the Internet. The company did not take the system into cardiac and neuro surgery which we were planning in Vancouver and let the endoscopy side eventually slip away. Unfortuantely, the new buinsess focus on the Internet and 3D streaming did not coincide with cheap glasses, bountiful bandwidth or the fabulous flat screens you see today.
Right now, there is a marvellous confluence of better cameras, HD, bandwidth, 3D-ready TV proliferation, cheapness of glasses, vast growth in cell phones with cameras, camcorders, silver screens being converted to 3D gloablly, megabucks going into 3D production, gaming 3D etc.
We have a licnesing business model. We want to be the 'Intel Inside'. We want a slice of the action from millions and millions of 3D cellphones, camcorders etc.
Our timing is great even though it's taken 20+ years! Our business model is the right one. We have tremendous interest in our technology - a real pull situation. We have a great team and we believe we can bring about solid value for our shareholders..
