CIC=chana investment corporation

WSJ: Beyond a Mongolian coal mine, why would CIC pick SouthGobi?

Mr. Molyneux: We said to them by investing in SouthGobi, we'll get you to know [Ivanhoe Mines and Robert Friedland]. We brought him to meet [CIC Chairman Lou Jiwei] a few times, and former Canadian Prime Minister [Jean Chretien] came out to talk about investing in Canada. In those meetings SouthGobi wasn't really discussed—it was more getting to know our major shareholder. I think they're quite interested in other [Ivanhoe] group companies.
