This will pass... & the inexorable rise in EV will dominate

This will pass... & the inexorable rise in EV will dominateI would express caution: just because one can read that the newly proposed tax code will apply to ALL mining companies in a link on the internet as "News" doesn't make it so. Government agencies, Ministers and Deputies often times speak and say many things to the press for good reason but it doesn't necessarily make it fact. As they relate to existing companies with existing Development Agreements, (most go for 10 years commenced at some point prior to the declaration of Commercial Production) reneging on same would fly in the face of everyone's internationally binding agreements (that are also sometimes - and for good reason - known as "Stability Agreements") and anyone worth their salt will have one with their host Nation. As I see it, likely what will happen is that companies will make provisional charges for these new proposed taxes - just as they did in Zambia 8 years ago when the exact same thing happened - in their quarterlies and then in the background the Lawyers & and local op.co. Directors go to work with Gov. to secure secondary & tertiary "concessions" & "benefits" such that the Country doesn't find itself in court in Paris answering why it broke internationally binding DA's & such that the Companies can continue to operate with some measure of confidence that their major investment and on prior financial planning, agreements and forecasting are achievable. This will pass... These are my views only. Thanks for reading.
